The building houses the College’s key administrative staff. Structura designed, supplied & installed Bi-parting automatic sliding doors as part of a major building refurbishment. Set within cladding consisting of randomly distributed opaque panels in three shades of blue the doors were design to a demanding aesthetic and functional brief. 

Slim-style polyester powder coated aluminium framed doors and side screens with 22mm blue tinted double glazed units. Measuring approx. 3.50m high x 4m wide.

An integrated electric lock mechanism is linked to and monitored by access control system.

Activation is by combined radar & safety presence sensors. With functional override at reception to control operation.

Battery backup system ensure safe opening in event of power or fire emergency.

New Connaught Building

This £18.5m building houses both the School of Social Sciences and the Department of Language and Communication Science on the site of the old Connaught Building. It is a busy and attractive educational facility creating a new landmark on City University's central London site.

Design and manufacture of automatic under floor mounted swing door drives with 12mm clear toughed glass doors with stainless steel top & bottom rails. The drives are linked to an electric locking mechanism controlled and monitored by access control systems for a 24hr a day secure office environment.

Structura also supplied & installed a number of  manual toughened glass doors with glazed over panels at various locations around the building.

Design and manufacture of double set of automatic door drives complete with 12mm clear toughed glass doors. Utilising the innovative in-floor swing drive provided all the advantages of door automation in a fully concealed unit, particularly suited for use with all-glass systems.
