A typical sixties style building with public, staff & delivery entrances required refurbishment  in order to give greater accessibility to their customers and therefore fulfil obligations under the DDA .

In a phased-programme of works, new entrances have been created for the general public, council staff and goods. The main entrance consists of four sets of automatic sliding doors with slim-line aluminium profiles offering high levels of acoustic and draught-proofing performance. Two sets of exterior, double-glazed doors are set within a structural glazed system and open into a lobby area, and two sets of interior sliding doors lead visitors into the reception area.

The staff entrance has had its existing two revolving doors replaced with four automatic sliding doors incorporating slim-style aluminium profiles. Structura also manufactured and installed a bolted, glass-type canopy above the entrance. A pair of swing doors with automatic operators serves the building’s loading bay.

Works also included refurbishment of two atria, replacing cracked glass and face-caps, and over 600 windows.
